Martell Cordon Bleu has achieved iconic status since it was created by Edouard Martell in 1912. This success is largely thanks to the smoothness of its blend, composed of over one hundred eaux-de-vie, above all the influence of the very rare and sought after eaux-de-vie from the small Borderies growing region, representing just 5% of Cognac vineyards.Martell Cordon Bleu Extra is a faithful tribute to Martell Cordon Bleu. Following Martell tradition, Martell Cordon Bleu Extra features double distillation of clear wines for exceptional finesse, which are then kept in casks of fine-grained oak to slowly concentrate their aromas without sacrificing their subtle sophistication. But while Martell Cordon Bleu is notable for the influence of rare grapes from the Borderies region, Martell Cordon Bleu Extra benefits from the addition of a generous portion of very old Borderies spirits, which add intense candied fruit aromas for a luscious cognac of remarkable roundness and elegance.
Martell Cohiba is a unique composition of aged eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne terroir. This superb cognac yields complex and intense aromas, honouring its Cuban kinship with Cohiba cigars. The perfect alliance of expertise that bears the seal of excellence.
For three centuries, the House of Martell has consistently pioneered new expressions of cognac, but none as refreshing as Martell NCF. Whereas most cognacs are filtered below 0°C, Martell NCF – the House’s first-ever non-chill filtered cognac – is filtered at room temperature with the specific aim of preserving its full potential to unleash irresistibly smooth, expressive aromas when served with ice.
Martell Single Estate Collection Level 3
The nose is very distinctive with leafy, fruit notes of blackcurrant, candied orange peel, light beeswax and walnuts. The palate is powerful and well-structured, with prominent notes of blackcurrant leaf lending a slight bitterness while supporting a remarkably long finish.
The bottle is numbered by hand on the front label. It is presented in a natural oak case bearing a metal plaque engraved with the Martell signature, the name of the domain, the vintage and the number of the bottle. A dedicated brochure and handwritten letter copy signed by both the Cellar Master and the winegrower describes the estate and details the tasting notes.
