Explore the wondrous world of photography, food and champagne. Perrier-Jouët Champagne recently partnered with Leica Camera and food enthusiast cum photographer, Jolene Koh in a unique line-up revolving around champagne and the know-how of capturing different food textures using varying styles of photo presentation and angles. But what truly sets the event apart was the unique juxtaposition of traditional local favourite delights and French champagne. Who knew that this uncustomary pairing would be perfect not only on photos, but also as a palatable dining choice?
Born and raised in the city of love, Paris, Lucas M. has always dreamt of sharing French “savoir-faire” with the world. He kick-started his international career in Sydney, Australia in the alcohol industry, taking care of consumer experience and premium events. He is not only a true Parisian at heart, but also a champagne and cognac enthusiast who has transformed his love for the finer side of life into a promising career.
Currently the Brand Ambassador for Perrier-Jouët, G.H. Mumm and Martell in Singapore, his sociable and outgoing personality gives his presentation style a flair only unique to him. His interests include sports, travels, the arts and of course, spreading the knowledge of Perrier-Jouët's exceptional finesse around Singapore.
Held at the sophisticated and classy Leica Camera store at Raffles Hotel, the event started off with a Perrier-Jouët Masterclass where Lucas M. talked attendees through the basics of champagne, including the history, inspirations and key dates of the iconic Champagne house.
Attendees sampled delectable cuvées and also learned what made the Champagne region so special with regards to wine processing.
It isn’t every day that we get to pair traditional local favourites with a premium champagne. But that is what makes feasting and drinking such a unique experience; you get to create your own menu, one that fits the occasion while fusing a myriad of cultures that you adore.
Especially in such an international city like Singapore, marrying western elements with local food and culture can only create wonders, both culturally and gastronomically.
Hosted by the talented and passionate Jolene Koh, the second Masterclass of the evening was an introduction to the favourite form of food photography amongst Millennials: the ‘Flatlay’. It was an unforgettable experience capturing the unexpected combination of Singapore’s local snacks and Perrier-Jouët champagne with the brilliant Leica cameras.
The event was a success and more than just a Masterclass, this event unveiled the flexibility of Perrier-Jouët: classic and iconic champagne that can be paired with any cuisine. Now you can gift a bottle of champagne at any occasion, even during good old Lunar New Year. Check our range of delectable Perrier-Jouët bubblies or sign up for the next Perrier-Jouët event.
